Action Required: DOJ Seeking Input on ADA Compliance Rule – Join us to prepare

Thursday, June 11, 2026
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (EDT)

Event Details

The U.S. Department of Justice is actively seeking feedback on the economic impacts of its 2024 final rule on ADA compliance, and your voice matters.

This is particularly important for municipalities with populations under 50,000.  The DOJ is specifically evaluating the financial burden on small governments and considering additional rulemaking to reduce those costs.

We are hosting a meeting to discuss this issue, review the implications for your municipalities, and provide guidance on how to provide specific feedback to the DOJ.

Topics we'll cover:

• What the 2024 ADA final rule requires of municipalities

• How to document and submit economic impact feedback

• Next steps for municipalities.

This is a time-sensitive opportunity to influence federal rulemaking that directly affects your budget and operations. We strongly encourage all relevant department heads and officials to attend.

This event is being hosted by the Employers Association of New Jersey, a nonprofit that helps employers and municipalities navigate complex workplace and regulatory requirements with clear, practical guidance. We translate legal obligations—like ADA Title II—into actionable steps so teams stay compliant while focusing on their work.
